PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent contact between an intermediate partition member and a piston of a low-stage side compression mechanism, in a two-stage compressor having the low-stage side compression mechanism and a high-stage side compression mechanism, without increasing the thickness of the intermediate partition member held between the cylinders of the respective compression mechanisms. SOLUTION: In the compression mechanism (40) of the two-stage compressor (30), the intermediate plate (95) is held between a low-stage side cylinder (60) and a high-stage side cylinder (70). A low-stage side piston (63) is stored in the low-stage side cylinder (60). A high-stage side piston (73) is stored in the high-stage side cylinder (70). The difference between the height of the low-stage side cylinder (60) and the height of the low-stage side piston (63) is larger than the difference between the height of the high-stage side cylinder (70) and the height of the high-stage side piston (73). Consequently, even in a state where the intermediate plate (95) is deformed so as to be swelled to the low-stage side cylinder (60), the contact between the intermediate plate (95) and the low-stage side piston (63) can be avoided.
