The method involves determining a value of air humidity in the interior (100) of a device i.e. cooling device (10), or a value correlated with the air humidity in the interior of the device, where the correlated value indicates the air humidity in an evaporator chamber (14). The determined value is compared with a threshold value, and a heat source i.e. panel heater, is activated for increasing a relative switching duration of a compressor (110) until the determined value reaches or exceeds the threshold value, where the heat source is in connection with the interior of the device. An independent claim is also included for a device with an interior for retaining goods.
