THERAPEUTIC AGENT FOR HEPATITIS C

Disclosed is a novel therapeutic agent for hepatitis C, which has a high therapeutic effect on hepatitis C.  The therapeutic agent for hepatitis C comprises hydroxyurea as an active ingredient.  The therapeutic agent for hepatitis C may additionally comprise interferon-a.  The novel therapeutic agent for hepatitis C has a high therapeutic effect on hepatitis C.  The use of interferon-a in combination can achieve a synergistic effect for the treatment of hepatitis C.  When a patient is infected by a hepatitis C virus having a genotype on which interferon-a therapy is effective, the therapeutic effect on the patient can be further increased by using interferon-a in combination.
