PURPOSE: An user authentication method through face recognition and fingerprint recognition of an authentication target person and a system thereof are provided to perform more exact and rapid user authentication by performing face recognition and fingerprint recognition at the same time. CONSTITUTION: A system obtains face data from an authentication target person(S100). The system extracts one or more face data with similarity which is more than a predetermined standard by comparing the obtained face data with face data of a face database(S110). The system obtains fingerprint data from authentication target person(S130). The system compares the obtained fingerprint data with standard fingerprint data corresponding to the obtained face data(S140).
