Provided is a display device which can suppress generation of driver cracks caused by a falling object or the like.  Provided is also a method for manufacturing the display device.  The display device includes: a display panel (10); a driver (37) for driving the display panel; a substrate (30) arranged on the display surface side of the display panel; and an adhesive layer (21) for bonding the display panel and the substrate.  The driver is arranged between the end portion of the display panel and the substrate.  A resin member (36) for absorbing a shock is arranged between the driver (37) and the substrate (30).
