<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a securement device improving the stability of the catheter and obviating the need for frequent application and removal of surgical tape. <P>SOLUTION: The securement device 8 secures a fitting 12 of a medical line 10 having an elongated body on a patient's body. The fitting 12 has at least one wing surface extending to at least one side of the medical line extending from the medical line 10. The securement device 8 includes a mounting surface at least partially covered by an adhesive layer for attaching the securement device 8 to the patient's body, a receiving surface 36 located distal of the mounting surface, an adhesive member 24 having at least substantially an equal transverse dimension to the transverse dimension of the wing surface of the attaching device, at least partially covering the receiving surface 36 and positioned to contact at least a portion of the fitting 12 of the medical line secured by the securement device 8, and a positioning mechanism formed so as to operate mutually with the medical line fitting. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
