<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal composition which uses vegetal raw materials, have a cholesteric phase at near room or body temperature, and assume an aesthetic decorating effect when applied on human lips and skins, and to provide a cosmetic containing the composition. <P>SOLUTION: The cholesteric liquid crystal composition comprises at least one esterified product selected from the group consisting of an esterified product (1) of a hydrolyzedγ-orizanol and a carboxylic acid compound, an esterified product (2) of a hydrogenated product of a hydrolyzedγ-orizanol and a carboxylic acid compound, and an esterified product (3) of a hydrogenatedγ-orizanol and a carboxylic acid compound. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
