摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change a processing range in which objects are recognized according to a reaction time. SOLUTION: In a picked up image, the device recognizes objects on the periphery of a vehicle by regarding an image area corresponding to a predetermined range on the periphery of the vehicle as a processing object, and gives an alarm to a driver of the vehicle about the objects recognized. A reaction time of the driver for a predetermined operation with respect to the alarm is detected. When the reaction time is detected to be a predetermined value or more, the predetermined range is enlarged and the recognition of the objects is carried out by making an image area corresponding to the enlarged predetermined range a processing object. The enlargement is carried out in a horizontal and/or distance direction.
