PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a magnetic disk which provides a reliable magnetic disk by forming a lubricant layer by a dipping method on a disk substrate without irregularity in the film thickness of a lubricant, with excellent adhesion. SOLUTION: On the disk substrate 10, at least an under layer 18, a magnetic recording layer 22, and a medium protection layer 26 are formed in order, and the lubricant is applied on the medium protection layer 26 by the dipping method to form the lubricant layer 28. In this case, when applying the lubricant onto the medium protection layer 26, the disk substrate 10 with the medium protection layer 26 formed thereon is dipped in a dipping tank of the lubricant, and then the disk substrate 10 is pulled out while ultrasonic waves are applied thereto.
