<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reinforcing a box culvert, which can make earth pressure on the box culvert lower than ever, and which is favorable in cost and carbon-dioxide reduction effect. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A crushed rubber piece layer 10 is arranged at least on a top slab 2 of the box culvert 1 which is buried in ground A. Preferably, the crushed rubber piece layer 10 is directly arranged on the top slab 2 of the box culvert 1. The crushed rubber piece layer 10 and an earth fill layer can also be alternately superposed on the top slab 2 of the box culvert.
