CONTROL DEVICE AND CHARGE CONTROL METHOD

Provided is a control device which charges/controls power supplied from an external power source provided outside a vehicle to an accumulation device via a charge cable.  The control device includes a first microcomputer and a second micro computer.  The first microcomputer turns ON a charge mode signal upon detection of a change of a pilot signal outputted from the charge cable, and turns OFF the charge mode signal when a charge completion signal outputted form the second microcomputer is turned OFF. When the charge mode signal is turned ON, the second microcomputer charges the accumulation device via the charge cable and turns OFF the charge completion signal when the charge is complete.  When the first microcomputer turns OFF the charge mode signal because of a certain error, the charge mode signal is again turned ON if the charge completion signal is ON.
