<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a marine anchoring arrangement in which a marine anchor is drivingly embedded vertically into a mooring bed by an elongate follower by its own weight and weight of the follower. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A follower 13 holds detachably an anchor 1 via an anchor shank 2 by means of a fulcrum pin 17. For initial penetration, the anchor is held in a position of minimum forward resistance, specially with the forward direction F of a fluke 3 parallel to the follower axis 20. When the anchor is embedded to a preferred depth d, the anchor is moved to a position for anchor setting by pulling on an attached anchor cable 4 so as to cause a shear pin to fracture and the anchor to rotate about the fulcrum axis until arrested by a stopper 21 on the follower 13.
