An embodiment of the present invention provides a call screening method and system. By deploying a logic unit, for example, a secretary station in an existing network, the embodiment of the present invention performs the call screening, in which the call is initiated by the calling party to the called party. After the screening is passed, a request message for canceling an unconditional forwarding identifier is sent to the visited Mobile Switching Center (MSC) of the called party. And after the unconditional forwarding identifier in the visited MSC kept by the called party is cancelled, a roaming number is acquired from the visited MSC of the called party and a call to the called party is initiated according to the roaming number, which makes it possible to acquire a roaming number from the visited MSC of the called party and calls from the calling party to the called party no longer limited by the visited MSC of the called party when the call screening is realized, so that normal calls are not limited at the same time when the call screening is performed.
