DRUM TYPE WASHING MACHINE

A drum type washing machine, wherein a rotating drum (2) is mounted in a water tub (3) such that a rotating shaft (20) is tilted downward from a horizontal plane from the open front face side toward the rear face side which is a bottom section.  Laundry is placed in the rotating drum (2) and the drum (2) is driven by a motor (6) to perform a washing step, rinsing step, and dewatering step.  An opening and closing lid (5) is tilted rearward from a body panel (41) for forming a front surface (4a) of a washing machine housing (4) and closes an access opening (12) open in a bottom section tilted rearward from a recessed section (42) recessed from the front surface (4a).  The body panel (41) is formed by integrating a frame-like body panel (41a) an annular body panel (41b) together.  The frame-like body panel (41a) has the opening side open to the front surface (4a) of the recessed section (42), and the annular body panel (41b) forms the bottom section side having the access opening in the recessed section (42).  The recessed section (42) is covered from the outside with an annular cover panel (44).
