<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation-safe emergency rolling bearing for a rotary machine having a magnetic bearing. <P>SOLUTION: This emergency rolling bearing includes the first and second bearing members 100A, 100B with a radial clearance 104 arranged between the bearing members 100A, 100B and a rotor 106, and axial clearances 105 are provided in both sides of axially adjacent members 107, 108 and the bearing members 100A, 100B. The first and second bearing members 100A, 100B are directly attached in insides of the first and second intermediate support members 109A, 109B. The intermediate support members 109A, 109B are integrated by an elastic prestress member 112 allowing expansion or axial-directional separation of the intermediate support members 109A, 109B with respect to the bearing members 100A, 100B by an axial-directional operation.
