<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use signal electric charges increased by a separately provided charge holding unit effectively, as an image signal without being restricted by the dynamic range of a circuit at a post stage of a photoelectric conversion section. <P>SOLUTION: A solid-state imaging apparatus has: a plurality of pixels each having a charge holding part which holds signal charges from a photoelectric conversion part, a first transfer part for transferring the signal charges from the photoelectric conversion part to the charge holding part, and a second transfer part for transferring the signal charges of the charge holding part; an amplification section which amplifies a signal based upon the signal charges transferred by the second transfer part; a reset section for resetting the signal charges of the amplification section; and a control section for supplying driving pulses to the first and second transfer parts and the reset section. When transferring signal charges generated in one signal charge generation period to the amplification section, the control section supplies a turn-on pulse to the second transfer unit in a state where a turn-off pulse is supplied to the first transfer part to transfer the signal charges of the charge holding part to the amplification section, supplies a turn-on pulse to the reset section to reset signal charges at the amplification section, and then supplies a turn-on pulse to the first and second transfer parts. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
