PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a driving circuit for a solenoid operation mechanism which can reduce a power loss when a coil is excited. SOLUTION: When a switch 14 is closed and a coil 5 for closing a pole is excited by a charged capacitor 11 to drive a moving core 2 and to close a pole of a vacuum valve not shown, keeping the switch 24 and a switch 28 open does not effect electric current passing or power loss even if a voltage is generated in a coil 6 by electromagnetic induction from the coil 5. Since closing a switch 18 before opening a switch 14 effects commutation of electric current passing through the coil 5 at the time of opening the switch 14 to a series circuit 19 including a resistance 17, the voltage generated in the coil 5 can be reduced. When the switch 24 is closed and the coil 6 for opening a pole is excited with a capacitor 21 to reversely drive the moving core 2 and to open the pole of the vacuum valve, keeping the switch 14 and the switch 18 open does not effect electric current passing or power loss even if the voltage is generated in the coil 5 by the electromagnetic induction from the coil 6.
