PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reception system allowing a user to view content based on digital broadcast data while keeping quality at a certain level or higher, and to provide a reception method and a reception program. SOLUTION: The reception system 1 includes: an external apparatus 100 for receiving digital broadcast data with low-quality broadcast data and high-quality broadcast data superposed on each other, and a terminal device 200 connected to the external apparatus 100 for reproducing the digital broadcast data. The terminal device 200 includes: a third separation part 207 for separating the low-quality broadcast data from the high-quality broadcast data based on the digital broadcast data, a reproduction part 211 reproducing data, and a determination part 209a determining low- and high-quality broadcast data to be output to the reproduction part 211 based on processing capability of the terminal device 200.
