<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brushless rotary electric machine 1 having a function of an electric transmission. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The rotary electric machine 1 includes: a field winding 7B wound on a field core 7A fixed to a housing 2; a first rotor 8 which comprises a first field pole 8b and a second field pole 8c magnetized to different polarities by the magnetic field generated by the field winding 7B; a second rotor 9 which has an inner winding 9b and an outer winding 9c both of which are connected in opposite phase; and a stator 10 having a stator winding 10b. The rotation of the first rotor 8 generates a voltage in the inner winding 9b. By receiving a rotational reaction force (power generation torque) caused by the power generation, the second rotor 9 tends to rotate in the same rotating direction of the first rotor 8. When the outer winding 9c is excited by the power generation that occurs in the inner winding 9b, a rotating magnetic field is generated in the outer winding 9c and an induction current occurs in the stator winding 10b, so that an electric torque is generated between the second rotor 9 and the stator 10.
