PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device in which charged particles are sealed in a gaseous phase, obtaining proper image density and contrast, and obtaining display images of high-definition image quality. SOLUTION: This image display device contains particles in a space, formed by two opposite substrates and a partition joined to the substrates, two or more pairs of electrodes are disposed along the substrates, and the partition is disposed along at least the ends of the substrates.
