The roof (1) has a roof panel (7) e.g. foil or tarpaulin, and a central retaining element (3), where the roof is formed as an additional device that is attached on a rotary clothes dryer (2). The roof together with the dryer is foldable and formed like a screen. The element is provided on a mast (4) of the dryer. The retaining element has a motor for opening and/or closing the roof or dryer. The roof panel is contractible and/or retractable, and flexible. The roof panel consists of fixed segments. A roof arm (5) is mounted on an end of a support arm (6) of the dryer.
