The awning has a flexible flat material (1) and a height adjustable support (2), where the flat material is fixed on the upper side of adjustable support. The support has a stand pipe (11) and a telescopic pipe (13), where the telescopic pipe is guided on the stand pipe in sliding manner. A compensating spring (10) is provided in the interior of the support, which is connected on one side with the stand pipe or with the telescopic pipe and with a rope on the other side.
