PURPOSE: A rubber composition for a tire tread is provided to ensure excellent abrasion resistance and heat resistance, good cracking resistance and processability, and to be used as a tire tread for truck and bus. CONSTITUTION: A rubber composition for a tire tread comprises 100.0 parts by weight of a base rubber, 48-50 parts by weight of carbon black, 1.4-1.5 parts by weight of sulfur, and 1.2-1.3 parts by weight of sulfonamide-based promoter. The base rubber comprises 80 weight% natural rubber and 20 weight% of polybutadiene rubber. The polybutadiene rubber is a neodymium butadiene rubber and has Mooney viscosity of 60 or more, average molecular weight of 9.0×105 g/mol or greater, and molecular weight distribution of 3.2-3.5.
