<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte providing excellent battery characteristics such as storage characteristics of a primary battery, and high-temperature cycling characteristics when a secondary battery is used at a high voltage, and to provide a lithium battery using the electrolyte. <P>SOLUTION: The nonaqueous electrolyte obtained by dissolving an electrolyte salt in a nonaqueous solvent contains a sulfone compound represented by formula (II) of 0.01-10 mass% in the nonaqueous electrolyte. In the formula, R<SP>4</SP>is one of an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkynyl group, a cycloalkyl group and an aryl group; R<SP>5</SP>and R<SP>6</SP>are each one of an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, a cycloalkyl group and an aryl group, with the proviso that R<SP>5</SP>and R<SP>6</SP>may form a ring by bonding to each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
