<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering support device for performing appropriate steering support according to the steering operation of a driver. <P>SOLUTION: This steering support device applies a steering torque on a steering mechanism so that a vehicle travels along a travelling passage based on the photographed image of the travelling passage ahead of the vehicle. It determines whether the operation of a steering wheel 2 by the driver of the vehicle is performed or not, and when it is determined that the operation of the steering wheel 2 is performed, the limit value of the percentage change of the steering torque is set to be smaller than that in a case without the operation of the steering wheel.
