PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of a vehicle which prevents the deterioration of drivability during the switching of a traveling mode corresponding to a road surface status, can be added to a conventional vehicle inexpensively, and performs electronic control cooperative with a power distribution mechanism. SOLUTION: When a traveling mode is inputted (step S13: Yes), the CPU of an ECU instructs the switching of a power distribution mechanism according to the input traveling mode (step S14), and performs control according to a stored traveling mode about a power control mechanism (step S15). When it is decided that the switching of the power distribution mechanism has been completed (step S16: Yes), the CPU of the ECU switches characteristics of the power control mechanism according to the input traveling mode, and when it is decided that a fixed time has passed while switching has not been completed after the instruction of the switching of the power distribution mechanism (step S18: Yes), maintains the characteristics of the power control mechanism to characteristics corresponding to the stored traveling mode (step S12) (step S19).
