PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problems: if image formation is carried out while prolonging an interval between papers in order to secure a fixing temperature in a clear monochrome mode, a developing device driving time is unnecessarily increased, then, the toner is deteriorated. SOLUTION: When the clear monochrome mode is selected, the image formation is carried out while keeping the interval between papers same as that during a normal image formation, and a fixing temperature recovery time (resting time) is secured in mass, then, the drive of the developing device can be stopped, so that stress on the developer can be reduced. Besides, if detection for an ATR control is carried out during the resting time, the image forming apparatus that does not waste time can be obtained. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
