PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for stabilizing toner density of a developer as compared with conventional apparatuses. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus composes a control part so as to execute processing starting drive control of a toner supply device on the basis of a drive control pattern by passing the developer passing a detection position due to a toner density sensor 10Y through a second agent storing chamber 14Y, and by being synchronized with timing leading to an opposite position with a toner supply opening 17Y of a first agent storing chamber 9Y after constructing the drive control pattern of the toner supply device on the basis of result detecting toner density variation of the developer before entering the second agent storing chamber 14Y in a recursive route of the developer of a development unit 7Y with the toner density sensor 10Y.
