PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor capable of being converted into hardware by suppressing the circuit size of a buffer between data processing circuits. SOLUTION: This image processor has: a small area image acquisition part 102 acquiring a small area image that is a detection target of a specific portion from an inputted image; and a scanning position control part 103 controlling a position wherein the small area image acquisition part 102 acquires the small area image. The image processor also has: a dictionary storage part 106 storing a dictionary for deciding the specific portion; and a decision part 105 deciding whether the specific portion is present in the small area image or not by the use of the dictionary. The scanning position control part 103 sequentially calculates the position of the small area image in a prescribed scan direction with a prescribed skip amount. The scanning position control part 103 repeats the scanning of the skipped small area image after shifting a start position of the scanning to control the positions of all the small area images each of which is the detection target of the specific portion.
