Structure and method for aligning fibre optics on an optical waveguide

The device has a wide waveguide (25) coupled to a submicronic waveguide (29), where the submicronic waveguide penetrates into the wide waveguide on a side of an end. The wide waveguide is coupled with an optical fiber on a side of another end. A surface of the wide waveguide comprises a diffraction grating i.e. light coupling device (33), capable of introducing-extracting-sending a back light into and from the wide waveguide independent from the submicronic waveguide. An independent claim is also included for a method for aligning an optical fiber on a free end of a wide waveguide coupled to a submicronic waveguide.
