A locking device 1 suitable for securing a loop 46 in a length of wire rope 42. The device comprises a plate 10 having first and second sets of holes 12 and 18. The first set of holes 12 comprises at least two holes 14, 16 and the second set of holes 18 comprises at least three holes 20, 22, 24. The loop 46 in the length of wire rope may be secured by passing an end of the wire rope through a first hole of the first set of holes in a first direction, a second hole of the first set of holes 12 in a second direction, a first hole of the second set of holes in a third direction, a second hole of the second set of holes in a fourth direction, and a third hole of the second set of holes in the third direction. The first and second direction are opposite and the third and fourth directions are opposite. The device is preferably used as a hanger for suspending an object 60. |
