<p>The invention relates to a method for drilling a hole in a rock with a rock drilling apparatus and to a rock drilling apparatus including a feed beam (1), a rock drill (2) moving along the feed beam (1 ) in the longitudinal direction thereof, a drill rod (3) connected to be rotated by the rock drill (2), a drill bit at the end of the drill rod (3) and a front support (6) locating at the rock-side end of the feed beam (1) and intended for being pushed against the rock during drilling. In the method, at the beginning of the drilling as the drill bit (4) moves in the transverse direction of the feed beam (1) such that the drill rod bends, the feed beam (1) is shifted in relation to the front support (6) in the transverse direction of the feed beam (1). The apparatus includes a transverse shifting device (7) between the front support (6) and the feed beam (1 ), by which the front support (6) and the feed beam (1) may be shifted in relation to one another.</p> |
