PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the frequent inconvenience due to switchings of hierarchies, when switching a hierarchical modulation mode adopted in BS digital broadcasting. SOLUTION: In a receiver 1 for the BS broadcast of the present invention, transmission data is selectively switched between high hierarchical transmission data and low hierarchical transmission data, according to the C/N ratio of a received signal to decode the content of information. Here, the threshold of the C/N ratio for determining the timing of switching from the higher hierarchical transmission data to the lower hierarchical transmission data, and from the lower hierarchical transmission data to the higher hierarchical transmission data is made to have a hysteresis. |
