The system has an aluminum profiled fixation stiffener (1) connected to a yoke of a rear axle of a motor vehicle. The stiffener includes two side walls (14) connecting corners (13) opposite to a parallelepiped shaped main wall (6), and intersecting at an inner side of the main wall so as to distribute efforts transmitted by the rear axle to a runner (3) of the vehicle. The body includes a lower wall (5) on which the yoke is fixed and an upper wall applied against the lower wall. The upper and lower walls form a housing to receive the stiffener. An independent claim is also included for a method for attaching a rear axle yoke to the body of a motor vehicle.
