摘要 <p>#CMT# #/CMT# The heat shield (1) has a metal layer (2) including two surfaces (21, 22), where a set of embossments (3) projects over one of the surfaces. A part of the embossments differs from the remaining embossments in size. The embossments differ in the height (H), area extension and flank steepness. The size of the embossments is fixed in dependence of a local bending stress in the metal layer. The height and/or the area extension and/or the flank steepness of the embossments increases with increasing bending stress. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Heat shield for use in an area of an internal combustion engine and an exhaust system of a motor vehicle for shielding an exhaust manifold, a turbocharger and attachment parts e.g. catalytic converter, precatalytic converter and particulate filter, from excessive heating and noise, and for use as a noise absorber, noise protector and heat protector. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The heat shield has a part of the embossments that differs from the remaining embossments in the size, so that the degree of deformation of the metal layer in which the embossment is shaped, is reduced, thus avoiding unnecessary strain of the metal layer, and reducing the danger of cracking and uncontrolled wrinkling of the heat shield.
