PURPOSE: A reinforcing bar coupler is provided to effectively reduce construction time by easily coupling reinforcing bars without additional equipment, and to easily distinguish the insertion direction of rib protrusions of the reinforcing bars. CONSTITUTION: A reinforcing bar coupler comprises a pair of coupler caps(10). Cap tapered surfaces are formed in the coupler caps. Fastening tapered surfaces are formed in a pair of fastening pieces(20), and correspond with the cap tapered surfaces. Fastening rings(30) elastically support the fastening pieces. Fastening piece pressurizing units(40) elastically pressurize reinforcing bars(1). A cap coupling unit(50) connects and fixes the coupler caps.
