PURPOSE: A television receiver is provided to induce the viewing of the selected broadcast when the power of the television receiver is off. CONSTITUTION: A selection data separating and processing unit separates selection data overlapped with the received VBI(Vertical Blanking Interval). The selection data separating and processing unit decodes the separated selection data into selection control information and outputs decoded information. If the registered information is detected among the data overlapped in the VBI section, a controller turns on the main power of a television system. The controller converts the system operation mode to a TV viewing mode and outputs the broadcasting signal or data of the preset broadcasting channel. |
