PURPOSE: An application recovering device and a method of a battery management system are provided to separately save a download function program and an application program by dividing memory areas of a BMS, and to download the application program again if an error occurs. CONSTITUTION: An application recovering device of a battery management system comprises a storing unit including multiple separated saving spaces. A method of recovering the battery management system comprises the following steps: performing a booting program saved in a first saving space when a power is applied to the battery management system(S400); detecting an abnormality of an application saved in a second saving space(S410); and downloading a new application if an error is detected(S440).
