<p>A transmitting/receiving system and a method for processing data are provided to receives both MPED data and additional data by including constitution elements which process both the MPEG data and the additional data. A demodulator(47) receives a broadcasting signal at which first data that has first attribute and second data that has second attribute are multiplexed, and then performs a demodulating operation for the signal. An equalizer(49) compensates channel distortion which occurs in the demodulated broadcasting signal, and a Trellis decoder(52) performs a Trellis decoding operation for the broadcasting signal of which channel distortion is compensated. A first error correction decoder performs a first error correction decoding operation for the second data to correct the errors occurring at the second data. A second error correction decoder performs a second error correction decoding operation for the second data of which first error correction is decoded to correct the errors occurring at the second data.</p> |
