PURPOSE: A motion control device for a robot by music recognition is provided to enable a robot to make motions corresponding to the genre of played music. CONSTITUTION: A motion control device for a robot by music recognition comprises a music recognition module(1), a motion generating module(2), a robot motion DB(Database)(3), and a robot motion control module(4). The music recognition module recognizes music and extracts the beat time, beats, and pitch of a sound source. The motion generating module generates motions of robot by synchronizing music data of the music recognition module and information of a motion information DB(21). The robot motion DB stores robot motion control information generated by the motion generating module. The robot motion control module controls the motion of the robot(100) by reading the information from the robot motion DB.
