PURPOSE: A fixing unit and an image forming apparatus including thereof are provided to control a pressure applied to a print media on a fixing nip by a printing feature through controlling the width of the fixing nip formed in between a heating roller and a pressing roller. CONSTITUTION: An image forming apparatus including a fixing unit comprises the following: a second roller(200) forming a nip in between a first roller(100) and the second roller; and a nip controller(400) installed on one end of the first roller while including a controlling ring(430) formed with multiple cam profiles to variably control the distance between shafts of the first roller and the second roller for controlling the width of the nip. The controlling ring is installed on a rotating shaft of the first roller. The nip controller additionally includes a one-way power transmission unit.
