COMPOSITION COMPRISING THE EXTRACT OF GLYCYRRHIZAE RADIX OR LIQUIRITIGENIN DERIVED THEREFROM AS AN ACTIVE INGREDIENT

PURPOSE: A composition containing Glycyrrhizae radix-process fraction or liquiritigenin derived from the fraction is provided to enhance expression of transport protein gene and to prevent and treat liver diseases. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating liver diseases contains Glycyrrhizae radix-processed fraction or liquiritigenin derived from the same. A method for preparing the Glycyrrhizae radix fraction comprises: a step of extracting Glycyrrhizae radix with non-polar solvent and removing non-polar component to obtain Glycyrrhizae radix extract; a step of hydrolyzing liquiritigenin and neutralizing to obtain Glycyrrhizae radix hydrolysate; and a step of washing the hydrolysate with water to remove saccharide and salt.
