PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for compensating I/Q imbalance in a transceiver are provided to correct the I/Q mismatch through phase and gain control by enabling a transceiver of Zero If scheme to estimate the I/Q mismatch. CONSTITUTION: A correction value controller(140) estimates a phase and gain correction values, and provides the phase and gain correction values through a control channel. A LOs(Local Oscillators)(120,125) corrects the phase by using the phase correction values. Converters correct the gain by using the gain correction values.
