THE PRESENT INVENTION RELATES TO AN INSTRUMENTATION AND NEW ANALYSIS TECHNIQUE CALLED GLOBAL STRAIN EXTENSOMETER (GLOSTREXT) METHOD FOR INSTRUMENTED TEST PILE IN STATIC LOAD TEST FOR FOUNDATION PILES. A METHOD DISCLOSES AN INSTRUMENTATION AND NEW ANALYSIS TECHNIQUE FOR FOUNDATION PILE LOAD TESTS TO DETERMINE AXIAL LOADS AND MOVEMENTS AT VARIOUS LEVELS OF FOUNDATION TEST PILE (10) INCLUDING PILE BASE LEVEL COMPRISING OF RETRIEVABLE EXTENSOMETER SENSORS (12) AND RETRIEVABLE SPACED-APART ANCHORS (14) PLACED WITHIN TEST PILE (10). THE EXTENSOMETER SENSORS (12) WHICH REFERRED HEREIN AS A GLOSTREXT SENSOR ARE POST-INSTALLED ALONG AN INTERNAL ACCESS OF TEST PILE (10) AFTER THE PILE IS DRIVEN OR CONSTRUCTED. THE INTERNAL ACCESS (18) OF THE TEST PILE CAN BE A HOLLOW PIPE OR HOLLOW INTERNAL SPACE OF THE PILE ITSELF. THE RETRIEVABLE SPACED-APART ANCHORS (14) ARE POSITIONED AT PRE-DETERMINED GAUGE LENGTH (16) WHERE SAID GAUGE LENGTH IS THE INCREMENT OVER WHICH THE MEASUREMENT WILL BE MADE FROM BOTTOM OF TEST PILE (10) TO TOP OF TEST PILE (10). THE GLOSTREXT METHOD IS PARTICULARLY USEFUL FOR MONITORING PILE PERFORMANCE AND OPTIMIZING PILE FOUNDATION DESIGN WHEREBY THE METHOD CAN BE USED IN ANY APPLICATION WHERE INTERNAL ACCESS PIPE (18) IS AVAILABLE. TYPICAL APPLICATIONS INCLUDE PILE LOAD TEST STUDIES FOR BORED PILES, MICROPILES, DRIVEN OR JACK IN PILES SUCH AS SPUN PILES, PIPE PILES, H PILES, REINFORCED CONCRETE SQUARE PILES, SOIL NAILS AS WELL AS RETAINING WALLS.
