<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developer replenishing device and an image forming apparatus which can use up developer inside a developer replenishing container, and which do not spoil user's operability. <P>SOLUTION: The developer replenishing container 1 has a light non-transmissive projection member 6 which projects outward in a radial direction at a part of an outer circumferential surface of the developer replenishing container 1, and a light transmissive window member 7. By detecting passing or non-passing of the projection member 6 and the window member 7 by using an optical sensor, and transmitting a signal showing the detected passing or non-passing of the projection member 6 and the window member 7 to a controller in an image forming apparatus body, presence or absence of the developer replenishing container 1 and presence or absence of the developer in the developer replenishing container are detected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
