<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an air-core reactor that can lower coil temperature by improving cooling effect for heat generation due to low-frequency circulation current loss, eddy current loss of higher harmonics, etc., that an AC reactor has. <P>SOLUTION: An inter-column gap of an axial center part of a coil 8 is denoted by d1, and inter-column gaps from the center part to one end or the other end are denoted by d2, d3, d4, d5 and d6.
