<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray diagnostic apparatus for generating three-dimensional images corresponding to respective virtual light sources by moving the virtual light sources along a prescribed pathway. <P>SOLUTION: The X-ray diagnostic apparatus includes a projection data generating means 004 for generating projection databased on transmitting X rays; a reconstruction means for generating volume data by restructuring the projection databased on an input viewpoint and the coordinates of the virtual light sources; and a rendering means 006 for generating the three-dimensional images by means of volume rendering. The X-ray diagnostic apparatus further includes a light source position generating means 007 for generating the coordinates of the virtual light sources. The reconstruction means 005 generates volume data for respective coordinates of the virtual light sources by reconstructing the projection data based on the input viewpoint and the generated coordinates of the respective virtual light sources.
