<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensor apparatus for implementing an accurate function diagnosis. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Resistive elements R1_1, R1_2, having the same resistance and a resistive element R2, are connected between output terminals VSM, VSP of a sensor element 1 and a ground. A switching circuit S1 is connected to the resistive element R1_2 in parallel. On/off state of the switch circuit S1 is controlled so as to differ during a self diagnosis and a normal operation. The switching circuit S1 is turned on, the resistance between the output terminal VSM and the ground is changed, and an output voltage of the sensor element 1 is changed during self diagnosis.
