<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation detecting sensor for improving adhesion between a molding section for covering a sensor unit and a sensor fixing member for fixing the sensor unit, and excellent in a sealing performance for preventing an interior from being immersed in water from the outside. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The rotation detecting sensor A includes: a magnetic sensor element 1 for detecting an object to be detected 45 provided in a rotation member; and the sensor unit comprising peripheral components 10, 11 electrically or mechanically connected to the sensor element 1, and detects a rotation of the rotation member. In the sensor unit, the molding section 8 is formed by molding a mold material comprising a thermoplastic elastomer or a rubber material, and covers a portion of the sensor fixing member 7. A surface roughness of at least the portion covered with the molding section 8 on a surface of the sensor fixing member 7 is rougher than the other portion by a surface treatment.
