The device (1) has a pad unit (5) with pads (6-10), two hand grips (3,4), a pressure mechanism for the pad unit, a padding support which lies at the surface of the aircraft, and a housing (2). The pad is wettable in a wetting station with a printing pattern, particularly in the form of a digit or a letter. The printing pattern is formed on one of the pads with a printing ink, particularly with a polyurethane lacquer containing two components. One of the pads is formed with an elastomer, particularly with a silicone-free rubber.
